Hoppers Team With Harley-Davidson of Greensboro to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

April 21, 2008
Harley-Davidson of Greensboro/High Point has teamed up with the Greensboro Grasshoppers in an effort to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont.

A Harley-Davidson VROD motorcycle has been donated to the charity by Harley-Davidson of Greensboro/High Point and volunteers will be selling raffle tickets during all Grasshopper home games throughout the 2008 season. Tickets will also be available at Harley Davidson Greensboro, Harley Davidson High Point, Wolf Creek Harley-Davidson in Reidsville and online by clicking here.

“We’re thrilled that we can partner with a great company in Harley-Davidson to raise money for the Big Brothers Big Sister program of our community,” said Grasshoppers President and General Manager Donald Moore. “Given the Grasshoppers’ pre-existing relationship with Harley-Davidson of Greensboro, it seemed like a perfect fit that we would join forces to give back to such a deserving organization.”

The bike was custom painted and has been nicknamed “The Baseball Bike”. The Baseball Bike will be on display at NewBridge Bank Park throughout the season either in the Hoppers Yard on non-game days or on the concourse during Grasshopper games. Raffle tickets for your chance to win the motorcycle can be purchased at the NewBridge Bank Park for $5 each or five-for-$20. The drawing for the winner will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7 during the Hoppers game against the Augusta GreenJackets.

The Hoppers returning home on April 22 for a 7:00 p.m. game against Kannapolis; tickets for the Hoppers’ next homestand are still available and can be purchased by contacting the Grasshoppers Box Office at 336-268.2255 or visit www.gsohoppers.com on the World Wide Web.

The Grasshoppers have welcomed over 1,250,000 fans to NewBridge Bank Park, becoming the only Class A team in the history of Minor League Baseball to draw over 400,000 fans and grow its attendance for three straight years in a new ballpark.  They are the proud recipients of both the South Atlantic League's Club Merit Award and the General Manager of the Year Award for the past three years.
