May 20, 2009

Greensboro, N.C. – Miss Babe Ruth and the Grasshoppers are inviting fans to bring their “best friends” to the ballgame on Wednesday, May 20 for “Babe’s Bark in the Park” when the Hoppers take on the Lake County Captains at NewBridge Bank Park. The annual canine event is the first-of-two the Hoppers will host this season and is being presented by Novartis Animal Health.

Fans can register their dogs in advance by downloading the registration form or on the night of the event at the Edgeworth Gate (left field). A standard ticket to the game will be required for all humans and special “Pooch Passes” must be purchased for each dog with the proceeds from the canine tickets going to Red Dog Farm.

A pre-game parade around the field will be held prior to the game beginning at 6:30 p.m. and all participants are encouraged to show up early to take part in the festivities. Along with a pre-game parade, contests will be held for the largest dog, owner and pet look-alikes, and most unique tricks.
