Florida Marlins Affiliates

Florida Marlin affiliates since 2003, the Greensboro Grasshoppers are a minor league baseball team from which the Florida Marlins can develop talent into seasoned players. Despite having only joined the major league in 1993, the Florida Marlins have won two world series. The Florida Marlins won first in 1997 against the Cleveland Indians and the second in 2003 against the New York Yankees.

As affiliates of the Florida Marlins, players are put on the Grasshoppers roster after the end of the spring training season. Spring training lasts about a month, beginning in March, and usually ends in April before the opening day. After opening day, the Grasshoppers look forward to an excellent season as do the other affiliates of the Florida Marlins.

Major league clubs have affiliation agreements with many teams to develop players at each class-level. The Greensboro Grasshoppers are a Class A team. A Class A team can consist of high-quality first season rookies or players moving from other leagues. Other minor league affiliates with the Florida Marlins include the Alburquerque Isotopes at Class AAA level, the Carolina Mudcats at the Class AA level, Jupiter Hammerheads at the advanced A level, Jamestown Jammers at the short A level, and the GCL Marlins at the rookie level. The Florida Marlins have many quality team affiliates from which to hone the skills of their players.
