Greensboro North Carolina Recreation has much to offer the avid sports fan and activity-seeking individuals. Sporting events and recreation opportunities abound in North Carolina's second most populous metropolitan area. Recreation opportunities for the state of North Carolina found in Greensboro include sporting events, cultural events, and a wide variety of leisure activities and recreation.

Baseball fans in Greensboro have a great downtown venue at NewBridge Bank Park. With a gorgeous view of the city of Greensboro's skyline, the stadium has a 66 foot digital scoreboard, ample concession areas, and home to North Carolina's Class A South Atlantic League team the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Opened in 2005, the stadium has many modern amenities. The Grasshoppers play a full exciting season of baseball beginning in April and lasting through to the end of summer. The baseball diamond is a great way to spend the spring and summer months watching America's favorite national pastime while enjoying a refreshing beverage and maybe a delicious hotdog or two.

Basketball and golf round out the fall and winter months. North Carolina has a dedicated college basketball fanbase who look forward to see long-standing rivalries played out on the court. The Greensboro coliseum features ACC basketball tournaments, drawing thousands from across North Carolina and the nation. For golfers, the city is also the site of the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro which is a stop on the PGA tour. Professional golfers come to Greensboro to play some of the finest links in the country.

Greensboro hosts many North Carolina cultural events and is a great location for recreation and leisure activities. In downtown Greensboro, the Carolina theatre hosts many of Greensboro's premier cultural events including the Eastern Music Festival, the Piedmont Jazz and Blues festival, and Broadway tours. Art galleries, amazing museums, parks and greenways are among Greensboro's many opportunities for recreation in the Triad.
