(Greensboro,NC) With less than 50 days until Opening Day, baseball fever is hitting Greensboro! The Grasshoppers will launch individual ticket sales for the 2008 season beginning on Saturday, February 23, at NewBridge Bank Park.
The stadium box office will open at 8:00 a.m., with tickets to all 71 Grasshoppers home games available, including the 2008 South Atlantic League All-Star Game. Autographed Hoppers memorabilia will be given out to the first 50 fans to purchase tickets during the event.
Additionally at 7:00 a.m., the Hoppers will open the second annual Hoppin’ Fun Yard Sale, located in the plaza entrance of NewBridge Bank Park. Items for sale include assorted Minor League Baseball items, vintage baseball jerseys, rare bobbleheads and much, much more! Proceeds from the yard sale will benefit the YMCA Open Doors Program.
As part of the Hoppin’ SaturdayFun, anyone wishing to audition for the National Anthem can do so at the stadium from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with registration beginning at 11:00 a.m.on a first come, first sing basis. Stadium tours will also take place on the hour, from 8:00 a.m. to noon, free of charge.
Chick-Fil-A at NorthElm Street Downtown will provide refreshments for the early rising fans, while supplies last.
Online and phone ticket sales will not open until Monday, February 25 at 9:00 a.m.
The Hoppers open their home 2008 season April 7 against the Hickory Crawdads.
The Grasshoppers have welcomed over 1,250,000 fans to NewBridge Bank Park, becoming the only Class A team in the history of Minor League Baseball to draw over 400,000 fans and grow its attendance for three straight years in a new ballpark. They are the proud recipients of both the South Atlantic League’s Club Merit Award and the General Manager of the Year Award for the past three years.
