The Florida Marlins have announced former Greensboro Grasshoppers pitcher Daniel Barone will make his major league debut tonight against the New York Mets.
Overall this season, the right-hander is 7-3 with a 4.10 ERA, which includes time spent at Double-A Carolina where he logged 129.2 innings in 22 starts.
The 24-year-old hurler took the mound 21 times for the Grasshoppers during the 2005 and 2006 seasons, compiling an overall 6-2 record with 89 strikeouts in 88.1 innings pitched.
First pitch at Shea Stadium is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. (ET).
